Sunburst Shutters was started in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who believed they could make a better shutter than any other in America.

Sunburst started offering an in-home consultation where design professionals brought samples into a customer’s home to guide them in selecting the best window treatment product. With that in mind, Sunburst set out to hire sales staff that were respectful and friendly – and, at the same time, experienced and helpful. Homeowners across America quickly fell in love with Sunburst Shutters.

In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the standard window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters gave consumers a more enduring and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters. 

At first, the company offered wood shutters exclusively. But it was quickly apparent that Sunburst should create the ultimate shutter – one that provides premium energy efficiency, and looks as beautiful 20 years from now as the day you purchased it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst revealed its Polywood Shutters. 

Once Sunburst offered the premium shutters on the market, they grew considerably, opening locations across America. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters extended its offerings into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
